For nearly 30 years combined, we have worked with lower-middle market businesses ($1- 5MM EBITDA) and their owners to manage cash flow, create vibrant cultures, and drive value into their operations. However, when the time came to exit the business, our clients

found themselves with limited options for guidance. Few investment banks or private equity firms are interested in this space. The other options oftentimes result in selling the business for less than it’s worth and paying exorbitant fees.

2717 Exit Strategy, LLC was started with the belief that business owners are the backbone of our economy, as well as our communities. They pay for other people to buy homes, and for other people’s children to attend college. They sponsor little league teams. They sacrifice, take risks, and lose sleep for their businesses. They deserve the opportunity to maximize what they’ve built to provide them with the most rewarding “life after” possible.

Our approach is to focus on the attractiveness of the business and the readiness of the owner, simultaneously. The business owner’s wealth gap is determined, thereby driving the value gap of the business. This gap is closed through our Value Creation Methodology. The enterprise’s Structural (systems, organization, documentation, certifications, patents, IP, etc.), Human (workforce tenure, leadership strength, healthcare / incentive packages, etc.), Customer (client tenure, loyalty, satisfaction, contracts, etc.), and Social (culture / communication) capital are optimized to ensure its transferability, as well as boost its multiple. financial plan, including tax and estate planning is developed, providing a clear path for what’s next.

According to the Exit Planning Institute, 70-80% of businesses who go to market, don’t eventually sell. They determined the number one reason for businesses to not transition is the seller backing out. We work with the owner to find the cause or purpose that would compel them to leave their life’s work behind. Through the value creation process, they will
